Dr Alexa I. Ruppertsberg
Speaker Bio:
I am a strategic leader in research and engagement, with over 15 years’ experience as a neuroscientist and another 15 in research, innovation, and engagement management and leadership. I founded the University of Leeds' Public Engagement with Research (PE) team in 2015, providing sustained support to researchers and partners through capacity-building and long-term collaboration. My work focuses on embedding ethical engagement practices institutionally and shaping strategies that better connect research with society. With our second strategic plan now in place, I’m leading efforts to foster a more joined-up approach to community engagement across research, teaching, culture, and civic activity—ensuring that every interaction between the university and the public is meaningful, ethical, and impactful.
