Selina Allu helps communicate great research ideas and turn them into action. Based in Calgary, Canada, she works as a Knowledge Translation Broker and Implementation Support Practitioner, partnering with researchers, patients/people with lived experience, clinicians, and decision makers to move evidence into the real world where it can make a difference. With a background in health geography, Selina leads knowledge mobilization for Can-SOLVE CKD, a Canada-wide network dedicated to improving the lives of people with kidney disease. She helps research teams create practical knowledge mobilization and implementation plans, supporting them to adapt interventions for local contexts and to scale, spread, and sustain innovations that improve care. Known for connecting people and ideas, Selina designs strategies and tools that bring diverse voices together, ensuring research responds to community needs. She is also experienced in hosting World Café sessions, using this collaborative dialogue method to surface insights, strengthen relationships, and spark collective action. She believes that real impact happens when scientific evidence, lived experience, and local priorities come together. Selina is a trained storytelling coach who loves to help researchers communicate their science with clarity and heart. Whether through workshops, mentoring, or plain language resources, she equips teams with practical skills to share their stories in impactful ways and inspire action. When she’s not working, you’ll find Selina socializing, exploring the outdoors, on her stand-up paddleboard, travelling, or enjoying good food and wine with family and friends.
